What Is Covered
Woody Plant Material: Fully covered for one (1) year from the original installation date that SGL performed the service.

What Is Not Covered
Seasonal annuals
Transplanted plant material
Grass seed and sod
Damage caused by neglect, external damage, or improper care
Schönheit Gardens Landscaping (SGL) takes pride in selecting healthy plants and installing them using professional horticultural practices. Because newly installed plants require consistent watering and care to become established, warranty coverage is available only when the client enrolls in SGL’s Plant Establishment Maintenance Program.
SGL Plant Warranty Program Terms
Warranty Coverage
Plants supplied and installed by SGL are covered for one year from the original installation date when:
The client remains enrolled in the required SGL Plant Establishment Maintenance Program throughout the plant-establishment period.
SGL is provided with reasonable access to the property, planting areas, and an approved water source.
The client promptly reports signs of plant decline or other concerns.
The client follows any additional care recommendations provided by SGL.
All invoices for the installation project and maintenance program are paid in full or are on auto budget billing.
If a covered plant dies during the warranty period, SGL will provide one replacement plant of equal value. Replacement value will be based on current market pricing, plant availability, and suitability for the site. If the original plant variety is unavailable or no longer appropriate for the location, SGL may recommend a comparable substitute.
Plant-Establishment Period
The standard plant-establishment period is 12 active growing weeks following installation.
Weeks when plants are dormant, the ground is frozen, or watering is not horticulturally appropriate will not count toward the establishment period. For late-season installations, service will continue until seasonal conditions require it to stop. Any remaining service weeks will resume the following spring.
The plant warranty remains in effect for one year from the original installation date. Resuming maintenance service the following spring does not extend or restart the warranty period.
SGL may recommend a longer or more intensive maintenance period based on plant type, installation timing, weather, soil conditions, drainage, water access, or other site-specific needs.
Plant Establishment Maintenance Program
The program includes:
Checking soil moisture around newly installed plants
Watering according to plant and site needs
Adjusting watering frequency based on weather and seasonal conditions
Visually inspecting plants for signs of stress
Documenting significant plant-health concerns
Making minor adjustments directly related to watering and establishment
Providing additional care recommendations when appropriate
SGL will determine the appropriate service frequency based on plant type, soil conditions, weather, season, and site needs. The schedule may be adjusted as necessary to support plant health.
The program does not include pruning, fertilization, pest or disease treatment, staking repairs, irrigation repairs, drainage corrections, plant relocation, or other landscape maintenance unless specifically listed in the client’s proposal. If additional work is recommended, SGL will notify the client and provide separate pricing before completing it.
Cancellation or Interruption of Service
Clients who decline, cancel, or materially interrupt the required Plant Establishment Maintenance Program assume responsibility for plant establishment, and the plant warranty will be void.
Warranty coverage may also be void if SGL cannot access the property, planting areas, or water source, or if another person or contractor performs work that interferes with SGL’s care recommendations.
Items Not Covered
The plant warranty does not cover:
Seasonal annuals
Transplanted or relocated plant material
Grass seed or sod
Plants not supplied and installed by SGL
Plants damaged by animals, pests, disease, vandalism, construction, vehicles, chemicals, or other outside causes
Damage caused by severe weather, flooding, drought restrictions, fire, or other conditions beyond SGL’s control
Plants affected by changes to drainage, grading, irrigation, soil conditions, sunlight, or the surrounding landscape after installation
Damage caused by the client, another contractor, or failure to follow SGL’s care recommendations
Damage resulting from an inaccessible or unavailable water source
Cosmetic concerns, seasonal appearance, or normal transplant shock
Plants that remain alive but do not meet a preferred size, shape, color, or growth rate
Replacement Terms
Warranty coverage is limited to one replacement per covered plant.
Replacement plants will be installed during an appropriate planting season and according to SGL’s scheduling and plant availability.
The warranty applies to the value of the replacement plant material only. Delivery, labor, soil amendments, equipment, disposal, and other installation costs may be charged separately unless included in the original proposal.
Replacement plants are not covered by a new or extended warranty.
SGL must inspect and approve all warranty claims before a replacement is authorized.
Plants may require a reasonable monitoring or recovery period before SGL determines that replacement is necessary.
Warranty replacements are not eligible for refunds or cash credits.
Warranty Claims
To request a warranty inspection, the client must contact SGL promptly after noticing a concern. The client may be asked to provide the property address, plant location, photographs, and a description of the concern.
SGL will inspect the plant and determine whether additional care, monitoring, or replacement is appropriate. Warranty decisions will be made by SGL based on the plant’s condition, maintenance history, site conditions, cause of loss, and the terms above.
